Nine Days In Spain – Tarragona & Salou

Hello everyone!

Today I bring you some more pictures of my holiday in Spain. On our last afternoon there, the weather was pretty rubbish so after lunch we took off to Tarragona, which wasn’t that far away from La Pineda.

I’d read in a magazine at the hotel that Tarragona had a lot of Roman ruins so I was quite excited to see that.

After parking the car (which took us a bit of time because it seemed like everyone else had had the same idea as us), we made our way to the Muralla Romana (Roman Wall) and decided to enter it.

Luck was on our side because there was a woman right after the arch you see in the first picture that asked us where we were from and told us that even though normally you had to pay to go inside, it was free on that day. So we went inside and spend quite a while in there just seeing everything.

After that, we followed the signs on the street that took us to the Tarragona Cathedral.

We ended up not going inside because it was a bit expensive but we could still appreciate its beauty from what we saw.

We walked through the streets surrounding this part of the city for a bit more and I really enjoyed just walking around with no destination. We then went back to the car and my father drove us to Salou. We’d gone on holidays to Salou more than 10 years ago so my mum wanted to go see what had changed and what was still the same.

We didn’t get out of the car and just drove around, my parents commenting what they remembered and was still pretty much the same (I didn’t remember anything because I was a kid back then). We then decided to keep driving to Cap de Salou (Cape Of Salou), stopping once or twice before we reached the lighthouse of the cape.

The weather got better as the afternoon went and I had a really good time just exploring a bit of these places.

Until next time,

Jo xx
