Books I Read #1 – January, February, March

Hello everyone!

Last year I did quite a few posts about book hauls but this year I’ve been trying not to buy any (or at least considerably less) books. I got a Kobo for Christmas so in between reading the books I have, I’m going to give e-books a try (as much as I prefer physical books). So instead of posts about book hauls, I’ve decided to share the books I read.

This year I decided to set a goal for the books I read: I want to read 50 books. I have to say this is going well so far, so here are the books I’ve read in the first three months of the year. Continue reading

Books I read in 2017

Hello everyone!

First of all, happy new year (better late than never, right?)! And I’m sorry about my absense in the past months but this last year of university has been chaotic and so were the first two weeks of the year… I had a big project due to January 5th and two exams this week so only today was I able to take a deep breath, stop for a while and relax. I still have on more exam but these two weeks were so hectic that I almost feel on holiday right now.  Continue reading

What I’ve Been Loving – Christmas Time

Hello everyone!

I know it’s been a while, but I just don’t have time to blog properly and I’d rather not blog than make shitty posts. I’ve been working on my group project for uni every day and I get home really tired and sometimes really late. That’s why I’ve been m.i.a..

But now it’s Christmas time and I’m having a little three days break. I’m at my grandma’s house and I’m really looking forward to Christmas this year. Today I was thinking about the blog and I figured that I could make a return with this blog post as a Christmas gift to the blog.

So here I am, to share with you a couple of things I’ve been loving or obsessing over.

Earlier this month I read The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas and I couldn’t not mention it. It was such a great book! Also this month I finally bought Secrets For The Mad by Dodie Clark and I finished it yesterday. I loved reading it!

Now, onto skincare… I’ve been using The Body Shop’s Strawberry Body Butter and I love how it feels on my skin. I totally recommend it, specially for winter. Recently, I used the Hot Spring Sauna Masque from 7th Heaven and even though I only used it once, I really liked how it worked.

Last but definitely not least, you all might know I love my highlights and recently I’ve been completely obsessed with Nyx’s Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powder in Twilight Tint. It’s the only blue-ish highlight I own and I think it’s just perfect for this cold weather.

So this was it for today. I wish you all Merry Christmas (if you celebrate it) and a happy new year, in case I don’t come back in a while.

Until next time,

Jo xx

September Book Haul

Hello everyone!

It’s been a while… My life has been so busy the past month that I couldn’t find time to blog. I’ve been planning this post since the beginning of October but time flew by… I went to Paris a week ago and it was amazing (I really want to blog about that so here’s hoping I find some time for it). I’ve been sick almost since I came back (if I’d known, I would have just stayed there, right?). Continue reading

July Book Haul

Hello everyone!

I’m currently in Spain with my parents and my brother having some well deserved rest. I wanted to share with you, once again, the books I bought this past month. So the thing is… Since I was starting my internship at the beginning of July, I actually thought I wasn’t going to have time to go buy books and I was pretty happy to save that money. How silly of me to have thought that… I actually don’t remember the last time I bought this many books. Anyhow, I’ve pretty happy with all the books I bought and I’m actually going through them pretty quickly now that I have days filled with doing nothing but what I please (which mainly includes reading, by the way).

June Book Haul

Hello everyone!

I hope you’re all great! I started my summer internship yesterday and, even though I’ve only been there two days, I’m liking it more than I thought I would so far. Let’s see how it goes from here…

Anyway, today I bring you the list of books I bought last month. Continue reading

May Book Haul

It’s been a while since I last published something but it’s the end of the semester so I haven’t had much time these past couple of weeks. I turned twenty-two on the 27th, so there’s that (22 by Taylor Swift might or not be my go to song at the moment…).

Anyway, I was going through the books I bought in May, thinking I’d only bought like two or three when I realised I bought quite a few so I decided to once again share them here.

  • Cassandra Clare – Lady Midnight

After reading The Mortal Instruments series, I’d been wanting to start this one for a while. I still haven’t but I’ve bought the book, which is a start…

  • Paula Pimenta – A Princesa Adormecida (I guess in english it would translate to Sleeping Princess)

The author is Brazilian so I really don’t know if it has been translated to any other languages other than Portuguese (I actually think the book was translated from the Portuguese spoken in Brazil to the one spoken in Portugal because I read it and it didn’t seem from Brazil at all). Anyway, it’s a shame if this book isn’t translated to any other language because I loved it so much! It’s such a good book! It’s about a princess that has to move away to another country (Portugal, actually) because she’s in danger and she lives with her uncles and they don’t let her have much freedom just to protect her, but then one day she decides to go out without them knowing and she meets a boy and things get complicated. But you know, it’s a very light book to read and it’s quite addicting. I was finished with it like four hours after I started reading it to be honest….

  • Rex Stout – Black Orchids

Well, I actually got this book for free. It’s from an old collection of crime and mystery short novels and there’s was this campaign at the book store that if you bought one of the new books from that collection, you’d get one of the old ones so that’s what I did.

  • Ellery Queen – Halfway House

This was the book I bought from the collection to get the last one for free. Plus, it was really cheap as well!

  • Jay Asher and Carolyn Mackler – The Future Of Us

I bought this one mainly because it’s from the same writer as Thirteen Reasons Why, but it also seemed a very interesting book.

  • Haruki Murakami – Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World

I actually didn’t buy this one. It was a birthday gift from my cousins and their girlfriends, since they all know I love books so much. It’s a bit different from what I normally ready and they knew that when they bought it, but they thought it was good from me to read other type of books and I honestly can’t wait to read it, because it seems quite intriguing.

So yeah, this was what I had for today. I have a couple more post planned so I hope that I have time for them. Don’t forget to tell me if you’ve read any of these books and what you thought about them.

Until next time,

Jo xx

April Book Haul

Hello everyone!

So, as you might or might not know, I’m quite the book lover and in April I ended up buying quite a few books. Continue reading
